JEE Main 2025: Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility and Pattern
The national testing agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main 2025 exam from 22 to 31 January 2025.
The NTA has released the application form for the January session exam from 28 October 2024. Candidates can fill the application form till 22 November, 2024. The registration can be done online from the official website of nta i.e. www.jeemain.nta.nic.in
The registration for session 2 will commence from 31 January and will be available till 24 february 2025. The exam for the April session will be conducted from 1 to 8 April 2025.
Candidates who are looking for admission in the top engineering colleges of the country must appear for the JEE Main exam. The admission in the B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs & CFTIs is done on the basis of JEE Main score.

JEE Main 2025 Application Form
The application form for JEE Main 2025 January session is open, candidates can apply till 22 November, 2024.
Candidates have to visit the JEE official website (www.jeemain.nta.nic.in) to fill the application form. The steps to apply online are given below:
Visit Official Website: Go to the NTA JEE Main official website.
Register: Click on “New Registration,” provide basic details, and generate login credentials.
Fill Application Form: Log in and fill out the form with personal, academic, and contact information.
Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, and any required certificates.
Pay Fee: Use online payment methods to submit the application fee.
Download Confirmation: After successful submission, download the confirmation page for future reference.
JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in JEE Main 2025, must check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.
Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination in the year 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025.
For paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): passed 12th with Physics & Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ technical vocational subjects.
For paper 2A (B.Arch): passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as mandatory subjects with 50% aggregate marks.
For paper 2B (B.Plan): Passed 12th with Mathematics with 50% marks.
For admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, a minimum of 75% in the board examination or in the top 20 percentile in the class XII examination of the respective board is required for admission. For SC / ST candidates, the qualifying marks should be 65% in the class XII examination.
JEE Main 2025 Examination Pattern
The JEE Main exam comprises of two papers:
- Paper 1 is for admission to B.E & B.Tech courses &
- Paper 2 is for B.Arch & B.Planning courses.
Candidates have the choice to appear in either one or both of the papers.
The JEE Main exam is conducted in CBT mode in 13 different languages including English & Hindi. The time duration of the exam is 3 hours for paper 1 and 3 hour & 30 minutes for paper 2A & 2B.

The Paper 1 BE & BTech comprises two sections – Section A & Section B, both having questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects.
In Section A each subject has 20 MCQ questions, in section B each subject has 5 questions of numerical value type. Thus, paper 1 is of 300 marks and candidates have to attempt 75 questions.

This paper consists of 3 parts, Part 1 is Mathematics, having two sections A & B. Section A comprises 20 questions, In section B candidates have to attempt 5. Part 1 Mathematics is of 100 marks having 25 questions.
Part 2 is Aptitude Test, where candidates have to answer 50 MCQ type questions carrying 200 marks in total.
Part 3 is a drawing test having 2 questions carrying 100 marks. Candidates need to answer part 3 in a pen-paper based mode.

In Part 1 Mathematics, candidates are required to attempt 20 questions from Section A & 5 numerical questions from section B.
Part 2 is an Aptitude Test having 50 questions carrying 200 marks.
Part 3 is a planning test, having planning based MCQs carrying 100 marks.
JEE Main 2025 Admit Card
JEE Main admit card will be available via online mode. The admit card will be released 3 days before the exam date. Candidates will have to use their login credentials to access the admit card.
Candidates must note that before the admit card the exam city intimation slip will be released. The advance city slip contains details like exam city, exam date etc.
JEE Main Exam Centres
The JEE Main exam centers are available in almost every state and Union Territory of India. In the application form, candidates will be given the option to select any four cities of their choice.
Last year, candidates had the option to choose from the list of 300 examination cities in India. For candidates residing in other countries. They can choose from the following exam centres outside india.
Brasilia, Paris, Beijing, Toronto, Dubai, Doha, Oslo, Kuala Lumpur, Muscat, Kathmandu, Moscow, Kuwait City, Manama, Sharjah, Belin, Sharjah, Riyadh, Singapore, Colombo, Vienna, Jakarta, Lagos/ Abuja, Port Louis/ Reduit and Bangkok.
JEE Main 2025 Result
The JEE Main result is released separately for both sessions. For session 1, the result will be announced on 12 February, 2025 and for session 2 the result will be available on 17 April 2025.
The JEE Main result will contain overall percentile score and scores for each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Candidates must note the best score from both the sessions will be considered for the counselling and admission process.
JEE Main 2025 Counselling
JEE Main 2025 Counselling process will be conducted for JEE Main qualified candidates in the month of May or June 2025. The counselling will be conducted online and will be managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and CSAB.
The participating institutes in the JEE Main 2025 counselling includes NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
